Enhavim (on ha veem) is a new word coined by Sherrie Rose for a meaningful endeavor: purpose and mission led by vision. Vision leads. Purpose fuels. Mission fulfills.
Enhavim #1
Purpose and mission led by VISION is a guiding force with clear direction.
Vision leads, purpose fuels, and mission fulfills. Enhavim is the one word for all three.
Enhavim #2
Enhavim is the word for a meaningful endeavor: the vision you imagine, the purpose that fuels it,
and the mission that fulfills it for other people.
Enhavim #3
From dream to enhavim: a life-changing dream becomes meaningful actions and outcomes
that follow purpose and mission led by vision.
Enhavim is the basis to map your decade with the Masterwork360 program. We partner with you to develop your masterwork, sharing value for generations drawn from decades of your worthy experience.
Sherrie Rose created enhavim to clear up the confusion among terms like "definite chief aim," "mission," "vision," "purpose," and "goals" in personal and organizational development. These terms are often used interchangeably, which keeps individuals and organizations from pursuing their objectives with clarity.
Enhavim is a single word that replaces and combines these ideas, giving a clearer and more concise core idea for pursuing a meaningful endeavor in life or in an organization. Enhavim combines a future vision, fueled by purpose and fulfilled through mission. In short, Purpose and Mission Led by VISION.
Enhavim is a guiding principle that breaks a BIG IDEA into five distinct steps:
1. Imagination captured and idealized becomes a VISION: Vision leads. It is the what, a clear, vivid picture of the future you want to create.
2. Vision with reason and intention becomes a Purpose: Purpose fuels. It is the why, the reason and intention that give the vision its energy.
3. Purpose that defines and benefits people becomes a Mission: Mission fulfills. It is the who and the how, and it benefits other people. Who comes before how.
4. Mission with strategy, objectives, goals, tactics, and clearly defined dates becomes a PLAN: Goals sit lower on the enhavim scale. The plan puts strategy, objectives, tactics, and dates around the mission.
5. Plan backed by consistent action manifests your enhavim: Consistent action in the NOW brings your enhavim to life.
Enhavim gives individuals and organizations a clear, actionable way to define and pursue their meaningful endeavors. You create your own enhavim, with vision leading, purpose fueling, and mission fulfilling. Use enhavim to Map Your Decade over a few days and 10 focused hours.
Purpose and Mission Led by VISION. The rhyme in 'From Dream to Enhavim' gives the word its direction. Enhavim is the bridge from imagination to reality, where a dream becomes progress and tangible achievement.
(on ha veem) (n.)
Enhavim draws from Greek, Latin, Hawaiian,
French, Hebrew, and Old English. The "EN" prefix signifies connection and nearness to purpose and mission.
"HA" is the vital life force behind enhavim's endeavors, and "VIM" represents growth, rejuvenation,
and the pursuit of goals with strength, energy, and vigor.
The prefix "en" comes from Old English and Greek, meaning "in" or "on." It later spread through Latin and French before entering English. In enhavim, the "EN" prefix signifies connection and nearness to purpose and mission.
In English, "en" often marks action or transformation, as in enable ("to make able") or enrich ("to make rich"). It can also suggest activity, seen in energy from the Greek energeia ("operation").
"En" words give language a precise way to describe action, transformation, and everyday experiences. A variant meaning, "put in or on," appears in encircle.
"HA" is the vital life force behind enhavim's endeavors. In Hawaiian, "ha" translates to "breath of life" and has spiritual meaning as the life force that connects living things.
VI comes from the French word vie (pronounced "vee"), meaning "life," in the common expression c'est la vie. AVI is related: the Hebrew aviv means "spring," symbolizing renewal, freshness, and growth, and reflecting vitality and life. Start with your dream... and go from dream to enhavim.
"HA", "AVI" and "VI", embody life, freshness, and vitality, representing renewal like SPRING, a time of blossoming flowers and new growth.
"VIM" represents energy, rejuvenation, and the focused pursuit of goals with energy and vigor. It is traced to Latin vim, meaning "strength, power, vigor, or energy." Its Proto-Indo-European root relates to physical or mental strength.
Vim also describes "force of expression," from French énergie, the power that calls up realistic mental pictures. These vivid images spark imagination and keep attention through clarity and intensity.
"Vim" describes lively energy or enthusiasm in both speech and action. The word captures vigor and spirited effort, giving language a precise, punchy way to convey drive, vitality, and dynamic force in everyday life.
Enhavim has a distinctive sound. The consonant-heavy structure, the emphatic "-im" ending, and the three parts give the word gravity. It was designed to be memorable enough to anchor decades of Masterwork and distinctive enough to stand on its own. The sound of enhavim fits its meaning: purpose and mission led by vision.
